Who is Tony Romo

Born on April 21, 1980, Antonio Ramiro Romo is an American sportscaster and former quarterback who spent 14 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL).

While playing college football for Eastern Illinois, he took part in the 2001 Ohio Valley Conference championship game. The following year, Eastern Illinois gave him the Walter Payton Award. Romo signed up with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2003.

From 2006 until 2015, Romo, who began his career as a backup, was the Cowboys’ top starter option.

He led the Cowboys to four postseason appearances throughout the course of his career, each of which resulted in Pro Bowl accolades.

In 2016, Romo announced his retirement after losing his starting position to backup Dak Prescott as a result of a back injury he had had in the preseason.

After retirement, he was hired by CBS Sports to work as their main colour analyst for their NFL telecasts.

Romo has several Cowboys team records, including games with three or more touchdown passes, the majority of games with at least 300 passing yards, and passing touchdowns.

He had the best fourth-quarter passing rating of any NFL quarterback from 2006 through 2013.

Romo’s lack of postseason success, however—he won just two of his six playoff games and never advanced past the divisional round—damaged his image.

His 97.1 passing rating was the highest among retiring players who didn’t appear in a Super Bowl.

Where does Tony Romo come from?

In San Diego, California, Ramiro Romo Jr. and Joan Jakubowski welcomed Romo into the world. Romo is a “Navy brat,” meaning that when he was born, his father was working at the U.S. Naval Station in San Diego.

After some time, the Romo family relocated back to Burlington, Wisconsin, where Joan worked as a grocery store clerk and Ramiro worked as a carpenter and construction worker.

As a young baseball player, Romo was selected for the Little League All-Star team.

When he was still a young man, Ramiro Romo Sr., Romo’s paternal grandfather, went from Mzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico to San Antonio, Texas.

Tony’s success served as an example of the chances provided to immigrants in the US by the senior Romo.
